Psyche Within the Matrix of the Natural World
Beyond Undoing
Why, then have to be human?
Oh, not because happiness exists,
Nor out of curiosity…
But because being here means so much;
Because everything here,
Vanishing so quickly, seems to need us,
And strangely keeps calling to us…
To have been Here once,
completely, even if only once,
To have been at one with the earth –
This is beyond undoing.
– Rainer Maria Rilke
Personal Intensive Retreats—Weaving the Inner and Outer
Turning toward that which is beautiful in one’s self and in the natural world allows an inner softening, a way in to more than the part that narrows amidst the demands of everyday life and shuts down when overwhelmed or faced with more than can be metabolize.
Over a series of 3-12 personal meetings, we will explore in depth what is known within, what longs for healing, and that which longs to be known and to emerge. Interwoven with our dialogue, we will work with dreams, visions, imagery, and Moving in Depth/Authentic Movement sessions in the studio and possibly the natural world. Calling on that which is beyond our personal sphere of knowing, where inner meets outer in a unique way, one can open to alternate states of consciousness and their transformative energies. By “Coming Home” to a place more centered within oneself within the matrix of the natural world, we “Return” with more resiliency and the capacity to think and feel with a new perspective.
If appropriate, we will include time and walks in the land that surrounds us. We will enter nature with intent, recognition and reciprocity.

Psyche Within the Matrix of the Natural World: Exploring the Significance of Psyche-Soma Integration within the Relational Matrix
We will study, through direct experience, the subtle and profound reality of our mutual influence on each other and how individual and collective healing is potentiated by bringing our conscious awareness to it through the practice of Authentic Movement.
In this practice, the descent to the inner world is through the body. Here, inner meets outer in a unique way where one can open to alternate states of consciousness and their transformative energies. Here, healing can be accessed that is not available in more verbal forms of therapy.

A Brief Description of Authentic Movement
Authentic Movement/ Moving in Depth
Authentic Movement/ Moving in Depth is a profoundly simple process in which one, in the presence of a witness, closes one’s eyes and, turning his or her attention inward, listens for felt sensation, emotion, and the stirrings of imagination, allowing one’s self to move and be moved. One may move into deep stillness or very subtle movements of the experienced body. This approach, rooted in Jungian active imagination, is like a meditation based in the feminine principle: self-guided and aligned with one’s own inner source.
Whether one is moving or witnessing, a foundational aspect of the practice is a rigorous tracking of inner experience such that one becomes aware of the process of projection and re-integration of projection. This work, so integral to Jung’s Individuation process is also essential in clarifying the intersubjective field whether between persons or between persons and the natural world.
Calling on that which is beyond our personal sphere of knowing, where inner meets outer in a unique way, one can open to alternate states of consciousness and their transformative energies. Here, healing can be accessed that is not available in more verbal forms of therapy.
